If you often feel sluggish, slow, and just unhealthy in general, then you may have an excessive buildup of toxins and unwanted compounds in your body. Some of the worst compounds to have in your body, especially if you let them build up over a prolonged period of time, are heavy metals.

Heavy metals are known for having a plethora of detrimental health consequences, so getting them out of your system as quickly as possible is paramount to your long-term health. Enter cilantro, a fantastic herb that not only tastes great in a variety of dishes, but also has a plethora of health benefits.

Today, we’re here to talk about the detoxifying and cleansing benefits of cilantro, and how you can use it to your advantage. We’ll wrap things up by creating one of the tastiest and healthiest cilantro lime salad dressings out there. Will provide you with step-by-step instructions, including our very own images, so you can make it at home.

Sure, cilantro has an amazing flavor, but its main benefit as far as we are concerned today lies in its ability to detoxify the body of various unwanted substances, mainly heavy metals.

Through a process known as chelation, cilantro is able to remove the vast majority of heavy metals built up in your body. Heavy metals can result in vascular damage, immune system difficulties, birth defects, nervous system disorders, skin lesions, kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal upset, and more.

Therefore, removing heavy metals from your body is essential, and indeed, cilantro is one of the best ways to do so. The simple reality is that not only does cilantro have the ability to rid your body of heavy metals, but it also has many other health benefits.

For instance, it may be able to reduce oxidative stress, lower blood sugar levels, support heart health, prevent urinary tract infections, aid in digestion, and much more. Remember, cilantro is chock full of vitamins and minerals that have potentially dozens of different benefits for you.

As you’re about to see, making this cleansing and detoxifying cilantro lime salad dressing is about as easy as it gets. You only need a few ingredients and a few minutes of time. Follow the steps below to start cleansing your body of heavy metals and so much more.

The first step here is to gather all of your ingredients. You’ll want a good handful of fresh cilantro, the juice of 1 lime, a couple tablespoons of fresh extra virgin all with oil, one or two cloves of garlic, and a few teaspoons of honey.

Exactly how much of each ingredient you use depends on how you like the flavor of your salad dressing, so we aren’t going to be too strict in terms of quantities.

As long as you use enough cilantro to reap the cleansing benefits of it, the rest is really up to you. Some people may also decide to add a bit of salt and pepper for flavor. Besides the ingredients, you’ll also need a garlic press or a grater for the garlic, a knife to do some chopping, and a citrus juicer.

The first official step to make your cilantro lime dressing is to crush the garlic. Take your garlic and peel it as necessary. Here is where you’ll choose whether to use one or two cloves of garlic.

We used two cloves of garlic in our recipe, although it did turn out quite garlicky, so you may only want to use one. Once again, it depends on your own preferences. Peel the garlic and then run it through the garlic press, and you should end up with cracked garlic.

Once the garlic has been added to your bowl, add olive oil. How much olive oil you add depends on how thin or thick you would like your sauce. We recommend that you add around two or three tablespoons of olive oil, and then go from there.

Take a fresh and ripe lime, chop it in half, and then run it through your citrus juicer. If you don’t have any kind of juicer, stick a fork in the middle of half of the line and then squeeze the lime around the fork. You can always just squeeze out the line with your bare hand as well. You should end up with somewhere over a tablespoon of lime juice. Add this to your garlic and olive oil mixture.

Now it’s time to add to the honey, and how much is completely up to you. Although honey does of course have some health benefits, it’s really here more for the sweetness than anything else. Therefore, how much honey you add into your salad dressing depends on how sweet you like it. We personally like it a bit sweeter, so we added about three teaspoons.

Here comes the star of the show, the fresh cilantro. Make sure that you have a sharp knife and give the cilantro a good chop. Seeing as cilantro is the main beneficial ingredient here, we do recommend using a fair amount of it. We used a whole handful, which equates to somewhere around a cup.

once you’ve mixed all of the ingredients together, you can then add a bit of salt and pepper to taste if you desire, although this is totally optional.

What’s really cool is that this salad dressing can be used for a variety of bases. As you can see from our image, we personally added it to some basic lettuce. However, you can create a salad using a variety of greens, vegetables, and other herbs, all of which work really well as bases for this cilantro lime dressing. It even works really well for something like a mango and onion salad.

at the end of the day, if you need a healthy way to rid your body of heavy metals and other toxic compounds, making a simple yet delicious cilantro lime dressing at home might just be one of the best solutions. Remember, this is a tasty recipe that not only has health benefits, but also works really well with a variety of types of lettuce, vegetables, and so much more.

Thanks for this recipe. I have used Cilantro in soups, beverages and garnishes but never as a Salad by itself nor for Detox.
Thanks for this information. I will definitely try this Detox.
